Venice in October 2026: no day-visitor access fee currently applies

As of 18 October, this year’s Contributo di Accesso trial has ended. Here is what that means for an autumn visit and plans for 2027.

What applies on 18 October?

The official portal says that neither the access fee nor an exemption request is required from 27 July 2026. Under the information currently published, an autumn visit therefore does not require this access ticket.

Looking back at the spring and summer trial

The city reports 60 separate charging days between 3 April and 26 July 2026, from 8.30 am to 4 pm. There were €5 and €10 rates. These describe the completed season, not a fee payable today.

What about 2027?

The access portal says any continuation after 2026 requires further municipal decisions. The old dates and rates should therefore not be treated as confirmed booking information for 2027. Check the official portal again before a future trip.

Planning your visit

Save your outward and return travel details and check each attraction separately. The absence of the access fee does not make transport, museums or accommodation free. An attraction reservation is a separate booking; allow time and budget for it.
