Deutsche Bahn timetable 2027: new ICE services, stable fares and tickets from 14 October

The timetable change opens up new travel options within Germany and across Europe. When planning, consider construction work and later service launch dates as well as the start of ticket sales.

Deutsche Bahn presented its changes for the 2027 timetable on 13 October 2026. The timetable starts on 13 December 2026. Tickets are offered from 14 October on bahn.de, in DB Navigator and at sales outlets. Travellers planning a year-end trip can then compare suitable connections.

Three additional ICE Sprinter services per direction and day are planned between Hamburg and Munich. With stops in Hanover and Nuremberg, DB gives a journey time of 5 hours 20 minutes. Seven daily ECE train pairs are planned between Hamburg and Copenhagen from March 2027. The changes therefore do not all start at the same time.

Italy and France: options for city breaks

Direct Frecciarossa services from Munich via Innsbruck to Rome and Milan are planned from summer 2027, subject to vehicle approval. The summer date should therefore be treated as a plan. DB also announces an additional weekend TGV connection to Paris from Munich and Augsburg. The first daily service to Strasbourg and Paris is expected to be around half an hour faster. Always check the booking information for your particular trip.

According to DB, long-distance Flexpreis fares and BahnCard 25, 50 and 100 prices remain unchanged. Saver offers still start at €6.99, which does not mean this price is available on every service. The DB family ticket can be booked from 26 October 2026 for travel from 1 November. At €99.99 it covers a return journey within Germany for up to five people, including reservations. At least one child must travel, and no more than two travellers may be aged 15 or over. Check the conditions before buying.

Allow for construction work

Renovation between Hanover and Berlin causes diversions and reduced services. Depending on the connection, journeys may take up to 80 minutes longer. Many trains between Berlin and Amsterdam run via Hamburg. DB includes major construction work in its journey planner when sales open. Compare the actual travel date, transfers and return journey before committing to accommodation or further tickets.
